KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation will construct a fire station on the premises of the University of Karachi.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the KU and KMC at the Vice Chancellor Secretariat on Friday.

KU VC Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi and Karachi Administrator Dr Saif-ur-Rehman signed the document.

The VC informed the audience that the KMC had provided 10 refurbished point buses to the KU.

Appreciating the administrator, he said that the KU would provide land for the fire station project.

Dr Saif asked the KU transport unit to inspect and select KMC’s vehicles and make them operational after necessary repair.

The VC said, “We are aware that these vehicles are not in use, but we can repair them with our limited resources and they will soon be seen on the roads of KU.”
