KARACHI: Lahore Division advanced to the quarter-finals of the National Women’s Basketball Championship on Tuesday when they outplayed Karachi Yellow 50-17 here at the Siddiq Sports Complex.

Hadiya led the Lahore Division’s triumph with 12 points, and was supported by Rida (eight) and Isha (seven). Zara Anwar of Karachi Yellow scored seven points.

Defending champions Wapda also made the final eight after outclassing Karachi Blues 77-20.

Kainat led the charge for Wapda, contributing 22 points while Fariha and Urooj added 11 and 10 points, respectively. For the Blues, Hijab in a valiant effort scored 16 points, Anaya Kamran and Amatul Amsala scored six points each, and Sana Rizvi scored four.

Islamabad Division entered the quarters with a walkover against Rawalpindi Division.

Karachi Greens showcased their mettle in the fourth match against Multan Division, securing a 24-10 victory and topped their group.

Noor Fatima and Nida Noor were instrumental for their team, scoring eight points each with Maryam Zuberi adding six.

Lahore Division continued their winning streak in the fifth match of the day, as they bulldozed Hyderabad Division 59-2. Hariya led the charge with 18 points, supported by Firozha and Hebba, who scored eight apiece.

On the opening day of the event on Monday, Karachi Blues downed Hazara Division 25-14, Wapda thumped Hazara Division 92-4, Peshawar beat Multan 32-17, Karachi Yellow routed Hyderabad Division 30-6, Islamabad defeated Quetta 46-6 and Karachi Green hammered Peshawar 32-5.
