HYDERABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party’s Kashif Shoro and Saghir Qureshi would be declared elected unopposed as mayor and deputy mayor, respectively, of Hyderabad on Wednesday (June 14), the last date for the withdrawal of candidature.

According to District Election Commissioner Yousuf Majidano, the nomination papers of Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan’s Tabish Hussain for the slot of deputy mayor were rejected over misdeclaration of assets. He was the joint contestant of mayoral candidate Zahid Ali.

The PPP is also likely to have six town chairmen elected unopposed for Hussainabad, Qasimabad, Neerunkot, Tandojam, Tando Fazal and Mian Sarfaraz.

The elections for Sachal Sarmast, Shah Latifabad and Paretabad would be held on June 15.
