PESHAWAR/MALAKAND: The Peshawar High Court on Monday granted bail to former adviser to chief minister, Abdul Karim, in May 9 vandalism and arson case.

Justice Ibrahim Khan heard the application of Abdul Karim and granted him interim bail and adjourned the hearing till June 12.

It is pertinent to mention here that the provincial caretaker government had already filed an application in the PHC for the cancellation of the bails of the May 9 accused.

According to the provincial police, the 310 accused arrested so far have been released on bail in different cases, including vandalism and ransacking the buildings of Radio Pakistan and the Election Commission office on May 9 and 10.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police on Monday presented three more local leaders of PTI before the Anti-Terrorism Court in May 9 and 10 vandalism and arson cases.

According to a police spokesman,the arrested included PTI Youth Wing leader Mina Khan, Jalal Mohmand and Shehryar.

ATC Judge Amir Nazir sent Mina Khan and Jalal Mohmand on judicial remand and Shehryar on physical remand.

Meanwhile, a court in Malakand on Monday approved the bail applications of 44 accused arrested for vandalism on the Swat Motorway.

The court ordered the release of the accused, including former provincial minister Shakeel Khan and other PTI leaders.

On May 9, PTI leaders and workers had set on fire a toll plaza on the Swat Motorway during a protest following arrest of the party’s chairman Imran Khan.
