Woman dies in gas explosion

DERA GHAZI KHAN, Jan 24: A woman died from burns on Tuesday while her minor daughter and two other relatives suffered severe injuries in an explosion caused due to gas leakage here. Reports said Saadia Jamil, a resident of block 8, forgot to turn off a gas heater burning in her room where she was sleeping along with her minor daughter and two relatives. The heater flame somehow died out in the night and the gas kept leaking.

Early next morning, when Saadia lit up a match in the room the accumulated gas caused a huge explosion. She died on the spot while the baby girl Saeeda Ahmad, Qaiser Jamil and Sajid Jamil received critical burn injuries. The injured were admitted to local DHQ hospital.

DIES: A man died while 14 others fell unconscious after eating poisonous food at Sarwar Wali in the limits of Drahma police station.

Reports said Mohammed Bakhsh died when he ate poisonous spinach while his 14 other family members fell unconscious who were rushed to the DHQ hospital.
