In a briefing to Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil here on Tuesday, KWSB Managing Director Brig Iftikhar Haider said that the strategy was to reduce the burden of paying a yearly hefty amount under the head of water consumption charges.

He further mentioned that KWSB had also entered into an agreement with Citibank under which details of the deposited water bills and amount received by public would be known to the utility in maximum two days.

Nasreen Jalil said that helping people by providing quality services and solving their problems were among major objectives of the city government.

Brig Iftikhar Haider assuring his support to the city government said that it was with this intention that the KWSB was improving its performance. In this regard, he said that the KWSB would appoint two to three XENS in each town under the supervision of superintendent engineers, while these superintendent engineers would be answerable to the town nazims.

He said a separate and new 33-inch water supply line was being laid in Lyari. It was told that the city government had presented a package of Rs2 billion to help solve problems of water and sewerage in the industrial areas.
