ROAD REPAIRS

Published May 27, 2023

ROAD REPAIRS: Most of the markets in Karachi have narrow roads riddled with potholes. Roads in the Soldier Bazar area can be a relevant example, though not exclusive. It is difficult and seriously irritating for commuters to negotiate the roads every day. People have to spend a considerable amount on getting their vehicles repaired on a routine basis because of the bad shape the roads are in. The administration should repair the roads so that people may save the money they currently spend on vehicle repairs.

SOCIAL MEDIA: One of the reasons behind the disturbance in the existing social order is the excessive and unguarded use of social media in Pakistan. Since its regulation is neither a priority nor are the authorities sane enough to keep a professional check on it, the layer of chaos keeps getting thicker by the day. I have been receiving indecent stuff shared by even the apparently decent and respected users. There is also the issue of false information. It is time the authorities concerned enacted practical legislation to control the circus.

FLOUR PRICES: The price of a 5kg bag of flour is currently being sold for Rs850, which is way beyond the purchasing power of the poor, or even the salaried middle class person. The govern- ment needs to control inflation instead of distributing free flour bags. That would be an actual service to the people.

EDUCATION IN KASHMORE: A number of educational institutions in Kashmore have been turned into cattle markets by feudal lords. With education being ignored with such contempt, the locals have no awareness about the need to stand up against brutal forces. The powerful of the area do not want them to acquire education so that their political hold may last forever. The government should take action against these evil forces.
