PESHAWAR: Provincial Minister for Information Mian Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel has termed the attack on the offices of Radio Pakistan and Associated Press of Pakistan an attempt to silence voice of the state.

According to a statement issued here, Mr Kakakhel met Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurganzeb at her office and said that the employees of Radio Pakistan and APP would be compensated for their losses.

He said that attack on radio station was conspiracy to silence the voice of state.

Ms Marriyum Aurangzeb said that she would soon visit Peshawar to enquire after to the injured employees. She also appreciated those employees, who continued the transmission of radio despite threat to their lives.

The federal minister said that attacks on government installations, businesses, infrastructures and law enforcers were incidents of terrorism.

She said that authorities were working to identify the attackers of radio station building and award exemplary punishment to them.
