SCAMMERS: With the fast-changing digital world, the face of defrauding the gullible has also picked up momentum. A while ago I got trapped by a fraudulent post circulating through Facebook. The post offered a job to unemployed women, such as housewives and others. I applied without verifying the post and was later deprived of my hard-earned Rs5,000 that I had to submit as ‘registration fee’ as directed by the scammer after applying for the job. People would do well to verify such job posts to stay away from the scammers.

CONFUSION: It is beyond comprehension as to why some senior members of the ruling alliance are openly opposing their own leadership and siding with the opposition whereas their party leaders are keeping their silence. Have such individuals grown larger than their parties, or do they have the approval of their parties to carry on with sort of a double game?

CONTROVERSIAL EXAM: The Combined Competitive Examination (CCE)-2020 was held in November 2020 under the supervision of the Sindh High Court (SHC). In January 2023, the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) said that the result would be announced “within 10 days”. However, the SHC then asked for fresh exams due to several irregularities. The SHC’s findings exposed the true face of officials who tampered with the copies to provide benefit to some influential applicants.

CLARIFICATION: This is with reference to the letter ‘Anomalies’ (May 15) which was in response to the article ‘First resolution’ (April 28). The ‘resolution’ following which Abdullah Haroon went into “virtual retirement” referred to the 1940 declaration, and not to the Karachi resolution of 1938. Nevertheless, the confu- sion arising from the date of the Rashdi interview is regretted. As for the word ‘Pakistan’, the article was quite clear.
