Renowned lawyer Barrister Asad Rahim has said that the sole reason for a sitting coalition government to protest against itself was only to “intimidate the Supreme Court”, which he said is the final hurdle in the way of “democracy’s destruction”.

“Having spent the past few days assaulting or arresting unarmed women, the state is now enabling Fazl’s Halloweeners,” he said. “The timing is no coincidence either: the same day the court’s deadline expires for upholding the Constitution and allowing citizens their fundamental freedom to vote.”
