OKARA: Four Railway staffers, including the station master of the Model City Railway Station, Okara, have been suspended in the light of an inquiry into the alleged rape of a passenger at the parcel collection room.

The incident took place on May 9 evening when a Karachi-bound passenger, waiting for the train, was lured into the parcel room by its head who raped her. The accused then made her to board the train without filing any complaint.

After reaching Karachi, the woman told her ordeal to her family members who lodged a case with the Karachi Cantt police station.

Chairman of Pakistan Railways Standing Committee MNA Mian Muhammad Moeen Khan Wattoo took notice of the incident and formed a three-member inquiry team headed by Dilawar Memon, DSP of the Railways Karachi Cantt police,

The team arrived here and conducted an inquiry but the main suspect did not appear before the inquiry team.

The station master was suspended for negligence as he did not manage the suspects appearance before the inquiry team.
