LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption Department (ACE) Lahore on Wednesday handed over Muhammad Khan Bhatti, former principal secretary to PTI President Parvez Elahi, to its Rawalpindi region after registering another case against him.

According to the ACE, Bhatti invested a sum of Rs300 million in the Alliance Sugar Mills, Ghotki, which he had allegedly received in bribes.

The ACE Rawalpindi carried out an investigation and registered a case against him.

Earlier, a judicial magistrate had discharged Bhatti in a case of allegedly receiving kickbacks in the payments made to a Turkish contractor of the Solid Waste Management Company.

Meanwhile, former federal minister Zartaj Gul did not appear before the ACE in a corruption probe.

The ACE had summoned her for April 19.

Gul is accused of changing the plan of the approved projects of her constituency and connecting her house and secretariat with carpeted roads.

The ACE said she had also awarded the projects at lower rates than the market and revised them at higher rates. It issued another call-up notice to Zartaj Gul, her husband and her private secretary.
