Pakistan U-19 camp for BD tour concludes

LAHORE: Pakistan national U-19 cricket squad’s training camp for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh ended here at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) on Tuesday.

The squad leaves for Dhaka on April 26 to play one-off four-dayer, five one-day matches and one T20 from April 30 to May 17.

“The preparations for the forthcoming Bangladesh tour have gone well in the camp and we are looking to secure a good result in the series,” Pakistan U-19 captain Saad Baig said in a video message released by the PCB media department after the camp concluded.

April 30-May 3: Four-day match, ZACS, Chattogram

“I will not be relying on one individual player, I am sure whosoever gets an opportunity will give his 100 per cent and will prove his talent and show why he deserves to play for Pakistan team.

“Our last series against Bangladesh at home did not pan out the way we wanted it to, we have worked to rectify our mistakes in the camp and have talked to the coaches about it. We will try to implement what we have learnt from here in the camp,” the skipper added.

Meanwhile, Pakistan team’s coach Sabeeh Azhar said the players had worked hard hard work during the camp at the NCA and were looking to give their best on the Bangladesh tour.

“The primary focus during the [U-19] training camp was on improving fielding which is a crucial part of the game,” the coach stated.
