KARACHI, Jan 18: On the directives of President Musharraf, Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad handed over appointment letters to 18 recently graduating special persons at a ceremony held at Governor’s House on Wednesday.

These graduate special persons have been appointed as lab in charges in Government Model Computer Project of Sindh Education Department in BPS-17.

Sindh Education Minister Dr Hamida Khuhro, Sindh Education Secretary Ghulam Ali Pasha, industrialist Syed Shujaat Ali, Sindh Health Minister Shabbir Qaimkhani, Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui, Chief Minister’s Adviser Fatima Suraiya Bajia, DG Rangers, IGP, Governor’s PS Muhammad Saleem Khan, parents of graduates and others were also present.

Ishratul Ibad said that steps were being taken on priority basis to eradicate menace of unemployment from the province and said special emphasis was being given to provision of employment opportunities to special and physically handicapped persons.

He claimed that for the first time in the history of Pakistan, special persons were being given jobs in accordance with their abilities and qualification.

Local industrialist Shujaat Ali informed the participants of the ceremony about steps taken by him for the welfare of special persons, future programmes and thanked cooperation extended by President General Musharraf and Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad. —PPI
