RAWALPINDI: “Information has been received that a small group of military officers, including two Army officers who were retired last year, has been engaged in activities directed towards seducing or attempting to seduce certain military personnel from their duty or allegiance to Government,” said a Press note issued by the Defence Ministry tonight [March 30].

“These officers have been arrested and will be dealt with by a court martial under the Pakistan Army Act of 1952,” the Press note added. The Press note further said: “In this connection reports have also been received of similar activities of some civilians associated with this group. They have been detained under the Defence of Pakistan Rules so as to prevent them acting in a manner prejudicial to Pakistan’s security.” — News agencies

[Meanwhile, as reported by news agencies from Rawalpindi,] Central Health Minister, Sheikh Mohammad Rashid … warned if prices of drugs were not reduced within one month, the Government will go ahead to fix prices. Addressing a Press conference, he said from April 1 no chemist will be allowed to sell drugs in brand names except those drugs which have been exempted by the National Formulary Committee.
