LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday cancelled the interim pre-arrest bail of PTI leaders Asad Umar and Farrukh Habib in a case of attacking police parties with petrol bombs and stones outside Zaman Park as they failed to turn up.

Judge Abher Gul Khan extended the bail of other leaders including Dr Yasmin Rashid, Mian Aslam Iqbal and Zubair Niazi in the same case till April 7.

A lawyer told the court that Umar was due to appear before the police for the investigation and the Election Commission of Pakistan in another case. He sought a one-time exemption from personal appearance and requested the court to extend the bail of Umar.

However, the judge turned down the request and withdrew the pre-arrest bail earlier granted to the PTI leader. The judge also cancelled the pre-arrest bail of Habib as he failed to join the hearing.
