DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Federal Investigation Agency’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zone with the help of an intelligence agency arrested two men over illegal forex trade and seized over Rs3 million currency notes here on Friday.

A spokesman for the FIA said that the arrest of Mohammad Ilyas Khan and Majeed Khan over hundi business came after a supermarket along the Indus River was raided under the supervision of FIA deputy director (Composite Circle) Liaquat Ali.

He said that 650 Turkmenistan manats (three million Pakistani rupees), three mobile phones, and hundi receipts were also recovered from the accused.

The spokesman said that the FIA had formally begun investigation after booking the arrested men under the relevant sections of the law.

SECURITY PLAN: The police have devised a security plan for bazaars, mosques, imambargahs and other key public places here during Ramazan.

The development came during a meeting chaired by district police officer Abdul Rauf Babar Qaisrani here at the Police Club, according to a spokesman for the district police.

The participants included SDPOs and SHOs, who examined security measures and promised their implementation.

The DPO said that the Ramazan security plan had been chalked out to provide the people with a sense of protection during presence in places of worship and bazaars during the month of fasting.

He said that under the plan, additional personnel of traffic police and special riders’ squads had been deployed at 24 places to ensure people’s security and smooth flow of traffic.

The DPO said that SDPOs, SHOs of police stations and heads of police checkposts would patrol key areas to provide security to people.

He said that the district police were committed to protecting people’s lives and property.

“Police personnel should ensure the effective implementation of the Ramazan security plan,” he said.
