FUTURE AT STAKE: In these unpre- cedented, inflationary times, life has become a never-ended, uninterrupted nightmare. With fuel prices soaring and transportation fares taking the same trajectory, it is increasingly difficult for many to commute to work. Work-from-home has become the preferred option, and it needs to be encouraged. The biggest hassle in the way, however, is the menace of loadshedding, followed closely by weak internet coverage. If the situation continues, the work-from-home option will no more be on the table.
Do we really want that to happen?

DELIVERING JUSTICE: This refers to the report “Rao Anwar, his team acquitted of Naqeebullah’s murder” (Jan 24). There were many across the land who felt surprised at the development. The magnitude of this surprise was an indication of what the common man thinks about the whole affair

BEAUTIFUL BUT DANGEROUS: The snowfall in Northern Pakistan this year was as beautiful a sight as it always is. However, it was also as dangerous as it always is for the tourists who come ill-prepared to stay warm and safe. The risk of hypothermia, frostbite and avalanches should never be underestimated. So, the next winter, when you plan to have some fun, better come prepared.

HAZARDOUS CYLINDERS: The shortage of natural gas leads to alternative arrangements, and the most common one among them happens to be the use of gas cylinders. The hazards involved in the arrangement are seriously downplayed by one and all. They are acknowledged, and that, too, momentarily, when there is a cylinder blast. The fact is that these gas cylinders in most cases are not subjected to any maintenance process. Such careless use of the cylinders leads to explosions that have already taken many a life.
