WASHUK: A Levies Force sepoy was martyred and another was injured after Dahli check post was attacked by banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants late Tuesday night, triggering an exchange of fire.

Basima Assistant Commissioner Shahzad Zehri told Dawn that a miscreant was also killed in the exchange of fire with Levies Force members during the clash.

He said sepoy Naimatullah was critically injured and later died while Rehmatullah was injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

The outlawed militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack and confirmed that one of its members had been killed during the gun battle with members of Levies Force.

It is for the first time that the TTP has claimed such an attack in Washuk district of Balochistan. The Washuk district has witnessed several such incidents in the past and they were claimed by Baloch militants.
