KARACHI: Power supply to the State Guest House has been disconnected due to non-payment of electricity bills, it emerged on Tuesday.
The K-Electric said that the outstanding dues against the federal government building were over Rs2.6 million.
The State Guest House was the official residence of the prime minister until 1968 when the capital was moved from Karachi and PM House was constructed in Islamabad. It is now used for foreign dignitaries, federal ministers and officials.
A KE spokesman said that a reminder notice for payment of the outstanding bill was also issued to the State Guest House, but to no avail. He said that the KE remained in regular contact with all institutions to ensure payment of outstanding dues.
