KARACHI, Jan 13: A section of the main Rashid Minhas Road flyover taking vehicular traffic towards Nipa Chowrangi and onwards is posing a threat to the lives of people using the road.

Vehicles coming from Sharea Faisal, Labour Camp and other link roads confront a tricky curve at the bottom-end of the bridge right in front of the Evershine Apartments.

Resident of adjacent localities of Block-10 and 11 of Gulshan-i-Iqbal said that numerous accidents have occurred at the point of diversion where vehicles either collide or hit the boundary wall.

Often cars coming at high speed, especially during early morning hours, fail to manoeuvre their way onto the flyover or straight to the Playland and subsequently hit the edge of the boundary wall dividing the two roads.

Cat’s-eyes installed to indicate the diversion for incoming traffic have become useless due to sewage on the road, they said, adding that point of diversion comes as a surprise for speeding vehicles. The traffic police earlier deployed to regulate the traffic are now no more being posted.

People have urged the authorities to take notice of the situation.—PPI
