NORTH WAZIRISTAN: A tribal elder was killed and his son injured when the vehicle they were travelling in came under attack here on Friday, the police said.

Malik Remal Wazir along with a son was travelling in a vehicle when unidentified assailants opened fire on it, leaving the elder dead on the spot and seriously injuring his son, officials said, adding the assailants escaped.

The officials said deceased’s son was immediately shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Mirali.

They said Remal Wazir, who was the chief of Borakhel tribe, had survived two militant attacks two years ago.
