PESHAWAR: The workers and leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf will start court arrest movement on February 23 in the provincial capital.

PTI provincial secretary information Shaukat Yousafzai told Dawn that the central party prepared a list of the cities for the court arrest of workers and leaders.

“As per the list, the workers and leaders of the party will be ready for court arrest on the upcoming Thursday (February 23),” he said. He said that PTI would start protest demonstrations if police refused to arrest them.

Mr Yousafzai said that some leaders of the party would go for court arrest while others would be out for carrying out political activities.

PTI president for Peshawar Ishtiaq Urmar has said that they will start the court arrest movement at 2pm on February 23. “We have received message from party chairman Imran Khan for launching the movement,” he said.

He also asked to PTI workers to inscribe the slogan of ‘Jail Bharo Tehreek’ on the party caps and flags. Beside party workers, he said, former MPAs and MNAs would also present themselves for the court arrest.
