LAHORE: Mehar Dil scored a brace as Aitchison College, Lahore defeated Government Lab Model High School, Sargodha 5-2 in the

final of the 53rd Jaffar Memorial Inter-school Hockey Tournament here at the Aitchison College ground on Wednesday.

Earlier, Noor Grammar School beat Government High School, Dhing Shah 2-0 to earn the third place.

In the final, Government Lab Model High School took lead as Shahzaib scored in the 17th minute, which the Aitchison College equalised through Mohammad Essa in the 19th.

The Aitchison College made it 2-1 through Mehar in the 28th and forged ahead 3-1 when he struck his second goal in the 39th.

On the offensive, Aitchison College made it 4-1 in the 44th when Zunair smashed a goal and one minute later Mohammad Faisal pumped in one giving his team a commanding 5-1 lead.

In the 53rd minute, the Government Lab Model High School struck a consolation goal through Mubashir.

Earlier, Rabee scored back-to-back goals to help Noor Grammar School overcome Government High School Dhing Shah 2-0 to finish third.
