KARACHI: A sessions court on Tuesday granted interim pre-arrest bail to two co-owners of a private plastic bags recycling factory in a case pertaining to the death of 18 people in Keamari.
Police had arrested Khair Muhammad alias Sher Muhammad and booked him along with two brother and co-owners — Shahid Husain and Saeed Khan — over their alleged negligent conduct that led to emission of toxic fumes resulting in deaths of 18 residents of Ali Ahmed Goth over the last two weeks.
On Tuesday, both brothers moved applications before an additional district and sessions judge (West) seeking grant of bail to avoid their arrest in the case.
Without touching the merits of the case, the judge granted them interim bail before arrest subject to furnishing a surety of Rs500,000 each till Feb 9.
