SUKKUR: A large number of newly-recruited primary school teachers and junior elementary school teachers took out a procession in Tangwani town on Sunday demanding withheld salaries of last 10 months.

Fida Hussain Khoso, Nazar Mohammad Malik, Talib Dahani and others who led the procession urged the administration to release salaries and arrears of past 10 months immediately.

They said that they had attended their duties regularly and had inured loans to feed and support their families since the day they had joined service.

They said that salaries had been released to JESTs in others districts on the orders of the Sindh High Court but local authorities refused to comply with the court order. They should be paid salaries immediately and served justice in this connection, they said.
