KARACHI, Jan 8: Two brothers were shot dead reportedly by their guests in the limits of the Air Port police station late Saturday night. Police said some guests came to the house of Tariq Butt, 52, and Arif Butt, 40. After tea was served to the guests, the women and children of the house went to sleep. At around 2am, they woke up to the sound of gunfire and found both the brothers in a pool of blood.

Police said the brothers were engaged in construction work. Tariq Butt was married and had four children.

Police shifted the bodies to the JPMC for legal formalities.

Police suspected some personal enmity or some business rivalry as a possible motive behind the killing.

KILLED: An elderly man was killed by unknown persons in his house in Garden area early Sunday morning.

Police said Sabir Khokhar, 60, lived alone at his second floor apartment in Fakir Building where unknown persons barged in and stabbed him to death.

Police said the victim used to work at an employment exchange at Ibrahim Hyderi, police said.

The body of a young man was recovered near the Site Fire brigade Station early Sunday morning.

Police said the victim was axed to death by unknown persons, who had dumped his body in the vicinity of the fire station.

The victim was identified as Abdul Qadir from an NIC recovered from his possession.
