TAXILA: A special court for the Control of Narcotic Substances (CNS) Attock sentenced a drug peddler to four years’ rigorous imprisonment besides imposing a fine on him.

Additional Sessions Judge Naeem Abbas Saqi found Faiz Ali guilty of smuggling narcotics and sentenced him to four years in prison. Police booked and arrested him on April 8, 2022 for possession of narcotics.

Furthermore, Attock police on Thursday claimed to resolve the blind murder case of a 10-year-old boy, who was strangled to death and later his body was thrown in the fields in village Mangnial in the jurisdiction of New Airport police station of Fatehjang town on Jan 21.

Sub Divisional Police Officer Fatehjang circle Raja Fayyaz Ul Haq told journalists that the body of 10-year-old Sufian, son of a prayer leader of a local mosque was found in the fields.

He said that police, through human intelligence, traced the suspect, who during interrogation confessed the crime. He said that he did it to take revenge for some old dispute.

He told interrogators that he killed the minor and threw the body in the fields.

Six held for gambling

Injra police arrested six persons while they were gambling in village Tarap on Thursday. Police said that acting on a tip off, a police party raided at the site and arrested the persons. Gambling tools and bet money was also seized during the raid.
