CHAGAI: The Balochistan Assembly lawmaker from Chagai district, Mir Mohammad Arif Mohammad Hassani, on Sunday demanded the federal government to impose the governor’s rule in Balochistan as the provincial government has completely failed to resolve problems of the masses and was “incompetent to the core”.

“The federal govt should intervene immediately by imposing the governor raaj to rid us of this incompetent govt,” Mr Hassani said in one of several tweets he posted on Twitter.

“The present economic situation in Pakistan is alarming. The federal government is struggling to avoid a default, but here in Balochistan the incompetent CM is sleeping with a total disregard for the people,” the Chagai lawmaker, who recently joined the Pakistan People Party, said in another tweet.

Mr Hassani has been criticising Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and his government since the removal of former chief minister Jam Kamal Khan’s government in which the Chagai lawmaker was the provincial minister for finance, communications and works.

Mr Hassani is also critical of Senate chairman Mohammad Sadiq Sanjarani and blames him for misusing his power in Chagai district.

He also claimed that all departments in Chagai district were now non-functional as they were serving the interests of a group of privileged people and not the general public.

He also accused the provincial government of “selling” jobs, asserting that after “selling” half of Levies Force posts in Chagai, now health department positions had also been sold by the government.

Chagai District Health Officer Dr Kahoor Baloch, denied Mr Hassani’s claim and termed these allegations baseless.
