TAXILA: PTI central leader Syed Zulfi Bukhari on Friday said the National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf had deviated from his earlier stance that he could not accept resignations collectively and each lawmaker had to verify their resignations individually.

Addressing a public meeting held in connection with inauguration of two different road projects in Pindigheb town of Attock on Friday, he said the speaker accepted the resignations a day after former prime minister Imran Khan hinted at returning to the Parliament to move a confidence vote against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

He said that accepting resignations of PTI lawmakers was another clumsy attempt of the government to run away from the general election as he performed groundbreaking of two roads in Pindigheb.

Talking about development projects, Mr Bukhari said that PTI wants development of far-flung areas and prosperity of people living in these areas. Mr Bukhari, while giving details of both roads, said that Nilhad to Maira Sharif road (10.8kms) will be carpeted at the cost of Rs293.6 and Nilhad to Dhok Tajaal (7kms) will be carpeted at the cost of Rs156.4.

He said that these roads will be carpeted in the shortest time and will benefit thousands of people of the area. He claimed that millions have been spent on different development projects in Pindigheb, Jand and Fatehjang and said that he would contest election from NA-50 Attock in the next general election and will defeat those who have been cheating the people of this area with hollow slogans.
