Attock elections deferred

ATTOCK, Jan 30: The elections for Attock District Hockey Association were deferred till Feb 1 due to a stay order.

The stay order was granted to Al-Fatah Hussani Hockey Club Attock which contended that voting rights had not been granted to it inspite of fulfilling all formalities.

Elections for DHA were being contested by fourteen scrutinized clubs of Attock district. Nine clubs were formed Rana Group while other five formed Rival Group. Rana Group, which holds the affairs of hockey for decades, have the support of Civil Club, Rajput Club, Pahther Club, Haroon Club, Young Club, Attock Crescent Eleven, Brothers Club Pindi Gheb, Pakistan Oil fields Club Khor, And Ghurilla Club.

ELECTIONS HELD:

On the directions of Pakistan Hockey Federation, the elections of District Hockey Association Mianwali held Wednesday.

President: Wasifullah Khan, Senior vice-president, Mohammad Altaf, vice-presidents: Mohammad Altaf and Mohammad Amanullah Nazi, secretary: Abdul Salam, joint secretaries: M. Aslam Sher Khan and Gulzar Ahmed, treasurer: Atta Muhammad Malik, Council members: Waheed Shah, Mehr Muhammad, Abdul Sattar, Muhammad Ramzan, Javed Iqbal.—APP
