KOHAT: The Kohat city police on Sunday arrested a man for assaulting an eighth grade student at gunpoint in Garhi Mawaz Khan area here.

The action was taken after medical report of the victim came positive.

The city police had registered a report on the complaint of the child, Saad Ali Khan, against the accused, namely Mohammad Zubair.

The child said in his statement that the accused also made a video of the offence, and threatened him of dire consequences if he disclosed the matter to anyone.

MILL SEALED: A flour mill was sealed in Hangu, while several dealers and millers were fined for hoarding the commodity meant to be sold to the people at subsidised rate during raids conducted across the Kohat division.

The action was taken on the directives of Kohat division commissioner Mehmood Aslam to ensure unhindered supply of flour at the government rate to consumers.

According to a statement here on Sunday, permits of three flour dealers were cancelled and one was fined Rs5,000 in Kohat.

In Karak, a flour mill and four dealers were fined a cumulative Rs113,000.

In Orakzai, two dealers were fined Rs15,000 in total.

In Hangu, one mill was sealed and another was fined Rs2,000.
