GUJRAT: Two unidentified armed robbers looted Rs5 million cash from a man in Kathala locality on the GT Road in the precincts of Gujrat Sadar police on Wednesday.

Police said one Shehryar Butt withdrew Rs5m from a bank in the city and was going to a residential colony on the GT Road with his cousin in a car.

When they reached near Kathala, two unidentified men riding a motorcycle intercepted their car as it slowed down on a turn.

The robbers snatched the cash from Butt and his cousin at gunpoint and fled the scene.

On being informed of the incident, teams of police and the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) arrived at the scene and collected evidence.

Police are investigating the matter.
