Man held for selling fake stamp papers

SARGODHA: A man was arrested on Tuesday at the district courts for selling counterfeit stamps.

The Anti-Corruption Establishment seized bogus stamps from vendor Qaisar Abbas, who used to sell backdated false stamps to customers for compiling fraudulent documents related to property sales and purchase.

As complaints poured in, the Punjab Board of Revenue’s stamps branch forwarded the case to the deputy commissioner, who notified the

Anti-Corruption Establishment, which searched the courts and detained the vendor. Although the government has launched online stamps issued from the Bank of Punjab but a few vendors over here are yet selling old stamps, issued manually from the treasury to stamp vendors.

FOUND DEAD: A lawyer was found dead in his chamber at the district courts here on Tuesday.
