MUZAFFARGARH: Police registered a case on Sunday against the suspects who chopped off the nose of a youth in the name of honour in the jurisdictions of Khairpur Sadaat Police Station a day earlier.

The incident occurred in Khairpur Sadaat village of tehsil Alipur when five men allegedly kidnapped Asif Magsi, subjected him to physical torture and chopped his nose off over suspicion of having relations with a woman of their family.

Koura Khan Magsi, a brother of the victim, alleged that his brother was kidnapped and tortured by Falak Sher, Yousuf, Abdul Sattar, Kaleemullah and Abdul Aziz who cut his nose off over false allegations. Police arrested two main suspects in the case, claiming that others would be arrested soon.

Earlier reports said the suspects had kidnapped Magsi from his farm and took him to Gabbar Arain where they tortured him before cutting his nose with a knife.

The injured Magsi was shifted to the hospital for treatment.

According to the first information report, Yousuf had chopped off Magsi’s nose with knife in connivance of Kaleemullah and others.

CASH PRIZE: A police constable received Rs500,000 from the inspector general of police for his act of bravery against robbers.

On Dec 5, Muhammad Siddique, a constable at Kandai Police Station, tried to catch robbers on motorcycle despite firing from them. District Police Officer Ahmad Nawaz Shah called him in his office and gave him a cheque and a commendatory certificate.
