LAHORE: The premiere of Pervaiz Kaleem’s new movie, Rang Ishqay Da, will take place in Lahore on January 12. The Punjabi movie will debut simultaneously in Pakistan, Canada, and England.

Mr Kaleem says that because his picture is not a typical Punjabi movie, he hoped it would succeed at the box office. He claimed that his written and directed movies like Gunaah, Nangay Paoon, and Bot Shikan were still recognised by the public. He claims that the upcoming film is romantic and features a cast that is essentially new.

Mr Kaleem has authored 200 movies and has also directed 22. He said he thought it was important to use new talent in his movies. When asked why he took a gamble and released a Punjabi film with a fresh cast, he responded that he always strived to promote up-and-coming performers. In Gunaah, he introduced Saud and Semi Zaidi, and in Nangay Paoon, he introduced Faisal Qureshi and Iram Tahir.
