TAXILA: PTI leader and former special assistant to the prime minister (SAPM) Syed Zulfi Bukhari said the “imported” government was trying to delay general elections but Imran Khan will be victorious whenever the elections were held.

He was talking to newsmen after addressing a public gathering in village Chakki near Pindigheb on Sunday where a large number of people led by Union Council Chakki Vice Chairman Qazi Mukhtiar announced to join the PTI.

Mr Bukhari said PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and PPP Co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari were refraining from heading to general elections as they were afraid of Imran Khan. He criticised the incumbent government for “destroying the booming economy” that he claimed the PTI regime had left behind.

Responding to a question, he said expressed concern over the destructive effects of the government on the country’s economy and demanded that general elections be held in the country without delay. He added that the nation wanted an immediate election as they had already given their verdict against the rulers imposed through foreign conspiracy.

He said that he would contest the election from NA-50 Attock and will win, adding a lot of development will take place in this constituency which has been ignored since independence. He said that during the PTI tenure, a large number of development schemes had been completed in the constituency at a cost of millions of rupees and tenders have recently been issued for the remaining schemes.

Mr Bukhari said that on his request the Punjab government had approved upgradation of two schools while the remaining schools will be upgraded soon.
