KARACHI, Jan 3: The Sindh chapter of the People’s Party Parliamentarians has planned to convene a meeting of heads of all the political parties holding identical views against the Kalabagh dam.

The meeting was originally scheduled to take place on Jan 8 in Karachi but since the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy announced it would stage a rally in Lahore on the same day against the dam, military operation in Balochistan and other undemocratic policies of the government, the meeting was postponed and its new date would be announced later, Sindh PPP chief Syed Qaim Ali Shah told PPI on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway for a big rally by the Anti-Kalabagh Dam and Greater Thal Canal Action Committee scheduled for Jan 18 in Hyderabad, he said.

The PPP, he added, being a member of the action committee, was stepping up efforts to mobilize the people against the ‘anti-Sindh’ projects and policies of the rulers.
