KARACHI, Jan 3: Five ships carrying containers and to load rice are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was brisk where seven ships, Ryoma to unload and load general cargo, Elli and Asdrubal to offload oils, Tai He, Iran Sattari, Yang Jiang He and MOL Silver Fern, to unload and load containers.

Four ships, Kota Jasa, G. Halaban, Emerald and Khairpur departed on Tuesday, while Santa Fe, Beta Tank-2, Heng Tai, Chrysolulas, Elli, Sammi Superstar, Thor Jupiter and Red Line-1 are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side totalling 0.136m tons comprising 27,883 tons of export cargo and 0.108m tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Kota Wangsa, Hyundai Highway, Y.M.Sun, Corin Thaikos, with containers and Sancris to load 3,500 tons of rice.
