KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has said that mushaira is directly linked to the Muhajir culture, but in the recent sociopolitical times, literary activities have been stunted.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at an Urdu mushaira at Al-Markaz-i-Islami in relation to the Muhajir Culture Day to be celebrated on Dec 24.

Over a dozen poets, including Khwaja Razi Haider, Ajmal Siraj, Abdul Rehman Momin and Ambreen Haseeb Amber, who also hosted the evening, enthralled the audience with their couplets. Poet Anwar Shaoor presided over the event.

Lauding the efforts of the organisers, Governor Tessori said that if such events continued to be held in the city, society would grow and prosper.
