DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two people were killed over a land dispute in Chanda area here on Thursday.

A police official said that Naimatullah, 69, lodged a report in the Yarik police station, stating that he was returning from his agricultural fields along with his two sons Sifatullah and Ehsanullah, nephew Zainuddin and Mohammad Wali when four armed men opened firing on them.

He said that as a result of the firing, Sifatullah and Zainuddin were killed on the spot, while others remained safe.

He identified the attackers as Nadeem Qureshi and Ashraf Qureshi, both residents of Garah Imam Shah, Aurangzeb Qureshi, a resident of Chanda, and another person also named as Naimatullah, a resident of Wanda Kaali. The accused escaped the area after the attack.

The police and Rescue 1122 reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and shifted the bodies to the hospital. They registered a case against the accused on the report of Naimatullah, father of deceased Sifatullah, and have started investigations.
