KARACHI, Jan 1: Following the announcement by federal government about the raise in gas tariff for all domestic, industrial and commercial consumers on Dec 31, the associations of CNG station owners and dealers increased the CNG prices. The CNG station owners and dealers associations had increased the price of gas by Rs1.25 per kg just two days back.

On Jan 1, they announced that they would now charge an increase of Rs2.40 per kg in Lahore, Rs2.14 per kg in Peshawar and Rawalpindi and Rs2 per kg in Sindh and Balochistan.

A press release signed by CNG Station Owners’ Association Chairman Malik Khuda Bakhsh and CNG Dealers’ Association Chairman Abdul Sami Khan stated that the CNG price of Rs31 per kg would be effective with immediate effect for Sindh and Balochistan.

It said the decision to increase the CNG rate was taken at a meeting on Sunday in the light of government notification according to which gas tariff had been increased by 15.51 per cent. —PPI
