KARACHI: Thoroughbred three-year old chestnut filly Blazing Arrow looks poised to reign supreme in the Colts and Fillies Trial Cup when it takes place in the winter Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

Blazing Arrow, who had to be content with second place in its last outing on Nov 6, is tipped to overcome the challenge from trio of same connection by winning the sixth and concluding race of the card to be run over seven furlongs.

The race is restricted to three-year old thoroughbred and half-bred Pakistani colts and fillies.

With two wins under her belt, filly Trouble Princess is expected to follow the footsteps of Blazing Arrow among four acceptors.

Colt King Pin looks fancied to make amends by dominating the Fantastic Face Stakes — a term race for two-year old thoroughbred and half-bred Pakistani colts and fillies.

The race, which will be contested over five furlongs, has a field of seven horses with colt Valentino on chance to grab the second place on board. However, if tried, colt Sand Man can pull off an upset.

Mare Star Queen who grabbed second place last week, may clinch the opening race that will see a good number of 14 horses vying for honours for four furlongs distance.

It may be chased by Arsalan Choice and Zyan. However, a pair of horses — Little Darling and Blind Lady — have the ability to bring an element of surprise.

Bay horse Faisal King is on course to make it two on trot should it maintain his form by capturing the second race that will go over four furlongs.

Bay horse Achilles and chestnut horse Faster Than You look good for the next two places among 13 aspirants.

If on job, Al Sabah and Flaming Ember may create quite a stir.

Mare Stella may pick up spoils in the third race while either of the two Princess Maria and Zaheer Choice from same connection may clinch the fourth race.
