TOBA TEK SINGH: On the completion of 118 years of the establishment of Faisalabad (Lyallpur) as a district, a model of turban as the ‘symbol of pride’ for the Sandal Bar area was installed adjacent to the main entrance to the DC Complex.

In the local culture, a turban is more than just a headwear. It consists of a long, usually white, cloth wrapped around a cap.

The turban installation was inaugurated by Commissioner Muhammad Shahid Niaz, DC Imran Hamid Sheikh and CPO Khalid Hussain Hamdani.

The commissioner appreciated the initiative on the completion of 118 years of the establishment of the district. He said the journey from Lyallpur to Faisalabad was progressing and today’s Faisalabad had a prominent status not only in Pakistan but abroad as well.
