Jawad Zaman declared best boxer

PESHAWAR, Dec 31: Jawad Zaman was declared best boxer on the concluding day of the Pakistan Forest Institute (PFI) Boxing Cup at Agriculture University of Peshawar on Saturday.

Jawad clinched gold medal in 64kg category. He won the final on knockout basis in the very first round.

Arshad Khan bagged gold in the 48kg, followed by Rahat Khan and Akhbar Khan, while Muhammad Sabir upset Ibrar Khan in the 51kg and Imtiaz got a bronze medal.

Shafqat Nazir struck gold in the 54kg, followed by Muhammad Riaz and Amjad Khan.

Sadam Hussain clinched gold in the 57kg. He defeated Sarfaraz 20-13 points in a four-round bout.

In the 60kg, Sunail Taj defeated Khalid Javed 20-14 in four rounds.—APP
