LAHORE: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja presided over a meeting regarding the computerised electoral rolls here on Monday to discuss proposals for improving transparency of the system.

Director MIS Election Commission Islamabad, Imran Ahmed and Director MIS Office, Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab, Babar Malik, briefed the meeting participants on various aspects of the Computerised Electoral Roll System (CERS).

The proposals presented by the regional and district election commissioners to improve the CERS and simplify the voter registration tracking, monitoring and new registration system were also discussed in the meeting.

It decided that a procedure for continuous update of electoral lists should also be devised.

Punjab Election Commissioner Saeed Gul, ECP officials from Islamabad, Punjab and regional and district election commissioners of the province also participated in the meeting.
