LAHORE: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) on Saturday dismissed 127 employees for remaining absent from work during the last month.

LWMC officials say that the action was taken following digital monitoring of the employees attendance record. They say because of digital monitoring a significant improvement has been observed in workers’ attendance.

LWMC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ali Anan Qamar says there will be no leniency for the work shirkers and workers will have to perform their duty regularly to keep the city clean and provide international standard sanitation services.

The company has issued a notification for the dismissal of 127 employees who have been absent for one month consecutively. In the last three months, more than 300 employees have been dismissed from service for remaining absent for long without notice.

According to the company policy, employees remaining absent for 30 consecutive days without notice will be dismissed from the service.

The CEO says all systems at the LWMC are being digitised. The attendance of workers in the field and the time of vehicles leaving and going to workshop are also being monitored through modern online applications, he adds.

He says the pilot project for digital entry of stock in the LWMC workshops has been launched. and all the workshops are being monitored with CCTV cameras.
