RAWALPINDI: On its ongoing campaign against illegal housing societies, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA)’s Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate lodged first information reports (FIRs) against two unauthorised housing schemes - Mivida City and Abdullah City - at Chakri Road.

A spokesman said RDA had also lodged FIRs against three illegal housing schemes - Budget Agro Farms and Countryside Farms at Chak Beli Road and Kalyam City at Rawat.

He said the public that Green Lake City was a fake housing scheme and was advertising on social media.

He said RDA has warned that without getting the NOC, launching of housing schemes, apartment projects, commercial buildings and their advertisements and marketing are illegal,” he said.

The civic body advised the general public not to make any investment in illegal housing schemes. Moreover, on direction of RDA Director General Saif Anwar Jappa, the MP&TE Directorate has launched an awareness drive for sponsors to stop marketing of unapproved/illegal housing schemes on print/social media and contact the RDA for getting approval of any scheme.

The MP&TE Directorate has sent letters to Federal Investigation Agency, Cyber Crime Islamabad, Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, SNGPL Islamabad, the District Council Rawalpindi and Pemra about illegal advertisements of private housing schemes on social media.
