LAHORE: Two students were shot dead by their fellows in Jahanian tehsil of Khanewal district on Thursday.

Police said Ali Hassan and Ali Hamza were sitting at a hairdresser shop near Girls High School, Jahanian, when Tahir and Saad came there.

They pulled out their guns and shot at and injured Hassan and Hamza. Both the suspects managed their escape.

The injured were taken to a nearby hospital where they could not survive.

The bodies were shifted to the morgue for autopsy.

Jahanian police have registered a murder case against Tahir and Saad on the complaint of deceased Hassan’s father Muhammad Akram.

Police later conducted the raids in different areas of the city and arrested Saad. Raids were being conducted to arrest Tahir.

A police investigator told Dawn that Hassan, Hamza, Tahir and Saad were class fellows and were sitting in a barber shop when Tahir pulled out his gun.

He said initial investigation suggested that Tahir was playing with the gun when it accidentally went off, injuring Hassan and Hamza.

He said Saad was arrested because he was nominated in the case and raids were being conducted to arrest Tahir.
