QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly, through a resolution adopted unanimously on Thursday, demanded of the federal minister for petroleum and natural resources to resolve the issue of gas loadshedding, its low pressure, and lift a ban on new gas connections in the province.

The resolution said the people were facing great difficulties because of these issues as biting cold weather had gripped all parts of Balochistan, causing severe difficulties to the people.

The resolution, moved by Shakilla Naveed Dehwar of BNP-Mengal, said that almost entire Balochistan was facing unannounced loadshedding and low gas pressure. Besides, a ban on new gas connections has aggravated the problem.

The worst-hit parts of the province facing the gas loadshedding and low pressure, the resolution said, were Quetta, Mastung, Pishin, Ziarat, Kalat, Khuzdar and Sibi.
